Considering Purchasing a 2006 X-trail Ti, Need Some Help!

Hi everybody,
I am considering purchasing a 2006 model Ti but would like to ask some questions before I do! The reason I am considering the 2006 model is I have heard of butterfly screws near the inlet manifold coming loose and causing engine destruction, was this only for certain years, only the QR25DE engine, did it still have on the 2006 model? I have heard that the butterfly screws can be taken off and have Loctite put on them is that a permanent or a temporary solution and does anyone have any diagrams of how to do this? I'm not considering going to the T31 (2007 up) model as I heard that when the transmission changed to the CVT it wasn't as good or as reliable, is this correct? Is there any other common fault or problems I should be aware of when looking for one? Also, how comfortable are they for day today and highway driving?
I thank you everybody for your help in advance and make God bless you richly! emoticon
