Where to find towbar rating sticker etc?

Hi all,

I have just got a 2013 xtrail st with a fitted towbar. For the life of me I can't find the stamp saying what the rating is of the towbar. It's not in the fuel cap, or on the drivers door or anywhere else I can see. The manual for the car sat under the heading coupling device installation that the maximal permissible verticals load on the coupling device is 100kg.

Does this mean that the ball weight maximum is 100 kg only

Does anyone know where the towbar rating stamp may be?

Any advice greatly appreciated

Re:

If it's a genuine Nissan towbar, then the following is the information shown on the Genuine Nissan Accessories list:

Towbar G9162 3U000AU ● ● ● ● ● Max. braked capacity 2000kg for all petrol models & manual diesel models. Max. braked capacity 1350kg for auto diesel models. Requires fitment with Towbar Wiring harness (extra cost)

The Towball capacity (vertical load) is between 100-150Kgs

The ratings stamp is on the towbar but it could hard to spot as the bumper hides most of the towbar.

I just don't know if it's a genuine towbar or not......

I'm tempted to pay the $500 for a Hayman Reece just to be sure

Yeah I have heard that. Doesn't mean they are the same. It would suck to replace a towbar with the same towbar. Hmmmm

I'm towing a camper trailer 1250kg with 120kg ball weight

I might pull off the back bumper to see if there is a sticker on it

The towbar should have a stamped aluminium plate on it in clear view which will have the manufacturer's name, vehicle type and ratings.

I think that's why I'm going to have to remove the back bumper. I just don't trust the lack of concrete info. Ah well. It can't be too hard.........

It's not the case with the T31 towbar Kev, the T30 had the towbar fully in view, however the T31 is fully hidden by the bumper and only the goose-neck is visible.
