Got a second hand towbar, but no wiring harness

Having looked at the fitting instructions, I'm sure I could fit the bar myself. Looks like it came with all the nuts and bolts and brackets needed, except one of the bolts with wire welded on has been angle grindered off by the looks of it. But I should be able to get another one of those and tack some wire on it easily enough.

The main thing I've just found after pulling out everything that came with it is that it didn't come with the Nissan wiring harness like it was supposed to, but a flat trailer plug with a pinout and some wire splicers. Is this going to be ok if I just splice these into the appropriate lights? Is it going to hurt my car's electrics at all?

Or should I harass the wrecker and get them to pull the harness out and post it to me?

Re:

Seeing that the T31 wiring is so sensitive that a blow fuse can send the car into limp mode, I wouldn't risk the splicing solution for the towbar and would certainly ask the wrecker to give the original wiring harness which would located behind the plastic trim of the boot area. It would make the installation process of the towbar much easier and neater as well.

Yeah after doing some more reading about it, that's what I thought as well. Got it sorted and they're sending me the harness emoticon

Then the fun shall begin!

Re:

My T30 has a Towbar fitted but no trailer plug either.

Guessing the guy who owned the car before me really liked it..........

Where do I find the wires to attach one, Is it a Plug and play scenario or have I gotta wire one into a new plug from scratch.

I found a clip of sorts but thought that might be for wiring in a Rear Fog light in that pop out section of the rear bumper

Re:

Yeah Jason, the one you found in the bumper is for the rear fog light. You will need to get a proper Nissan wiring harness and then remove the plastic trim on the left side of the car to reveal the wiring harness/plugs that are specifically made for that purpose.
