Re:

After the replacement of the three sensors they did another diagnostic test which revealed no faults anymore.
Does that mean that they also reseted the ECU? Or should I also do it Just to be sure?

And i couldnt find the manual for reset in the DYI section...

And can the difficult starting also be caused by non-resetting the ECU or im a stuck to the other tread about the gasket emoticon

Re:

Reset it again to be sure. The guide is HERE

Keep the discussion going in other thread about the head gasket cause your engine is running far too hot at the moment.

Re:

If you can't work out which fuse to pull out, just disconnect the car battery overnight and the ECU will be re-set the next morning.

G'day.
I have a T30, 2004 with about 300,000ks on the clock. First start of the day, no throttle, 1-2 cranks, starts and runs perfectly. After driving anywhere around 20ks onwards, starter turns, but motor won't start. Pump accelerator, no difference. Doesn't even try to fire. Battery good. After about 6-8 attempts, by getting it to turn over a couple of times each attempt, it will start, and again runs perfectly. Seems to be worse when the weather is hot, or have been parked in the sun. It did stop on the way to Melbourne (from Canberra) a week or so back, but then restarted straight away. Local mechanic suggested perhaps cam sensor? The only maintenance it has had lately was replacement of the fuel line out of the tank - perished and leaking, now replaced with high pressure hose.

Any advice much appreciated.

Have you had your mechanic do a compression test ?
Do it both cold and hot to make sure there is no large difference.
It is sounding like a small pressure leak in the head gasket which opens up as the head gets hot, losing compression making it hard to start then as it cools down closes up to keep pressure and start. Once running it would just be down a little on power.

Re: T30 - STARTS WHEN COLD, BUT NOT WHEN HOT

OK, something about your post I forgot to mention...pumping the accelerator in your Xtrail will not do anything. That only worked in the old carburettor days, not with electronic fuel injection. It is actually suggested not to use the accelerator at all when starting.

If there is no problem with the compression then have your injectors checked and cleaned.
When injectors are clogged, they dribble fuel instead of spraying it and sometimes remain open when turned off, allowing the fuel to dribble out losing pressure or causing a vapour lock in the fuel line.
