Scuffing Paint

Hi, Anybody having an issue where the paint just below the plastic scuff plate on the drivers door is rubbing off? I'm trying to load a picture but Photobucket isn't in the mood. I'm guessing its happening from my boot dragging over it as I get in the car. It has rubbed down to the primer and I was wondering if anybody else has had the same issue and if so, what was your solution to protect it? I'll get an image up ASAP. Cheers

Re:

It happens to just about everyone, only solution is to lift your feet.
Go to a auto supply store and get some paint matched to your Xy, then paint it.

Re: Re:

In your instance, maybe tidy up the paint, then attach a strip of 3M clear plastic protective strip.

I bought mine at about $10 / metre for the 50mm wide stuff and applied it to major wear points while the car was relatively new & before the paint or plastic was worn.

It works a treat!

On the lip of the tailgate where the dogs scramble in, there are some slight marks on the very tough 3M strip but none on the paint or plastic which it protects.

Re: Scuffing Paint

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. Probably too far gone to worry about repair for now. I might see if I can get white tape or even black would look ok.
