Street to Mud Pig

Hey guys,
Thought id start a build on my little T30

Bought it with 140,000kms from a sydney sider, so obviously hadn't seen dirt before.

Started off buying a set of Lenso 22" wheels with 265/35 tyres.

It took a little panel beating in the rear but got them to fit. Sitting flush with the guards.

Then couldn't help but tint the tail lights too.

Re:

Soooo after running this look for a while, and still going for the odd 4x4 up in Ourimbah SF with the 22's i decided to go big. (well as big as i could emoticon )

So i did a little shopping a bought the 2" spacer lift kit, a set of 17" territory steel wheels and some aggressive 245/65/17 Mud Terrain tyres

Time to start cutting!! emoticon

Re:

So took the exy for the last little 4by out at Wyee to the mental home.
Not too bad, few boggy spots and some big ruts to attempt later on.

Re:

Before i take her off road i decided id like to get some protection, due to the lower clearance than other 4x4's

So last night at work i decided to do some foreigners and make a lower radiator guard, and a bash plate all out of stainless.

Re:

Sooo the big day had come around for me to start fitting these wheels.
Not going to lie, they were a massive pain in the ***....
I had already had to do some minor panel work in the guards for the 22s and these we're a lot bigger.

The first two pics show the rub marks from the 22's.

This is the clearance with the 22's, but didn't rub in the rear.

Re:

After some more work with the soft hammer at work i was able to fit the wheels just, the rears as you can see hit when the car is jacked up. When lowered down they just fit after a shite load of hammering and folding.

Re:

Heres the rest of the work i did the day after to help get more clearance front and rear.
I don't recommend anyone to try this if your not confident cutting and hammering your guards out on your exy haha. Literally took about 4.5hrs work emoticon
After work was done i painted my wheels, grill, and bumper bar in plasti dip to give it a meaner look! emoticon

Both rear pinch welds? on the body had for be rounded in

As you can see the big rub marks on the inner guard in front of the firewall, these are empty cavities that i was able to open up, round out with the soft hammer then weld back up.

Re:

Soo heres the final pics after 2" lift, Stainless guards underneath and for the radiator, 17" muddies, Plasti dipped wheels, bar and grill. Even smashed out a quick stainless exhaust to increase approach angle for the rear.

I also like Ian's idea on his Monster build for the front bar cutting for better approach angles.
