Dash cams can be a two-edged sword.
In the hands of the trained, conservative driver, they are an independent witness to the faults of others.
In the hands of a hoon, they hold evidence of the incompetence or stupidity of the owner.
I have a dashcam and sometimes save the files of unusual incidents it has captured, just for my own amusement.
E.g. last week there was a low flyover of an aircraft over the road with helicopter not far away but also in the picture frame.
Another time it recorded a motorcyclist threading the needle at 100kph+ in a 70 zone.
I bought mine after watching the car in front of me disconnect from its towed boat and trailer at 100kph on the highway - missed the mess by that much ( >-< ) !
However, I sometimes wonder how hard it would be to swallow the micro SD card should it ever be necessary
