how to put xtrail t30 in 4wd mode? please help

Okay so at the moment car is in the shop getting fixed, but I just brought it and when I press either 3 buttons auto lock or 2WD no lights come on and it don't feel any different to drive. During precheck b4 you start the car I see the 4wd and 4wd lock light show. I just don't know why it won't work when driving

Chances are that the connector at the back of the push-button selector has come out.
If there was a fault in the relay then you would have the 4WD light in the dash on all the time.
Pull off the stereo surround and check the connector.

If it was a faulty ABS sensor then you should have had a flashing 4WD lamp in the gauge while you were driving in 4WD mode to indicate something was wrong. Did they check the connector at the back of the switch or just tell you the ABS sensor was faulty ?

Re:

Hey Kev, there was never any flashing light whilst I was driving it and trying to get it in 4wd mode it was as if the switches were dead. Nissan just rang me and told me it was the abs sensors that was faulty causing the 4wd not to work.

Re:

Depending on which wheel ABS sensor is faulty (I suspect it would be one of the two rear wheels), the sensor itself can be bought for around $70 bucks or so on eBay and you can change it yourself, as it is plug and play. $600 bucks is a massive overkill.
