Alternator overrun clutch pulley.


Had the xtrail in for a dry bearing type noise which would come and go. When it occured it lasted for around a minute and then it dissapeared with a clunk like sound. It turned out to be the alternator overrun clutch pulley which engages when belt drives it and dissengages when revs slow down so alternator still spins on without direct slowing. So i'm assuming it wasn't engaging properly with drive, thus the clunk when it found it's engaging point.
