Bummer. I live in central Vic and can tell you that Roos are almost in plague proportions now. When I go fishing and leave just before sunup when I drive through forested areas I only travel at 60ks an hour and only go faster when I have no trees along side the road and a clear view sideways for a hundred meters or so. An hour after sunup is ok but just before and after is the worst. Same for coming on dusk. The amount I have had come out in front of me in the past few years if I had been going faster I would have hit at least 20.
The roos keep the local smash repair guys in business big time where I am, probably a good 50% of their work. When Im going slow and a car comes up behind I just pull over and let em go, them resume my drive.
I used to shoot roos, legally, with others and can tell you that in recent years the culling has dropped significantly and numbers are sky rocketing.

That looks like the ARB bar.
I don't think it would have made a difference who made the bar.

Oh yes it would!! There is a huge difference between bulbar performance.

http://www.tuffbullbars.com/uploads/media/X-TRAIL_T30T31_Range_01.pdf

I have the black alloy bar as fitted in the second & third pic on that page. It weighs about 45kg and works VERY well! It's ADR compliant and Air Bag compatible, so it won't affect your warranty.

12 roos so far and zero damage to vehicle or bar, so the bar has paid for itself several times over and we've not had to make an insurance claim.

When I ordered mine, they added extra aerial tabs for the LED light bar.

If you want pics of my bar, PM me.

It's the same in Qld too mate. It's because of the new compliance requirements for the Russian export markets, plus the expense of setting up to be a roo shooter aren't covered by the income

Vehicle, rifle(s) licencing, gun safe, ammo, fuel etc. The returns no longer justify the investment anymore.

The worst place for roos on the hwy I've seen lately is between Barcaldine and Blackall shortly followed by Roma to Morven.
