Re:

there is too much involved in modifying the QR to get the sort of "poke" im after so its not worth the headache lol

I really want to find out just how easy an SR20 would marry up to things like engine mounts and matching up to the gearbox because "if" it all just bolts up then half my problems are solved, id just deal with the minor details as they appear

Jalal, you think the transmission would hold up? wonder how easy the Pulsar GTIR running gear would fit?.. mainly the gearbox...

more research to come me tinks! was hoping someone may have been able to shed some light on this but im always up for a bit of research!

Re:

maxgmoore, im already on 17's lol...

im not one for big fancy wheels and super low profile tyres... been there done that. but lowering lexi may be on the cards... not to low. just enough for the guards to sit about 1"/2"in from the top of the wheel

actually now that i think about that in a bigger picture thats a hell of alot to be lowered.... ha ha

now where can i get some coilovers.......

Cheers
Mick

Re: SR20DET into Xtrail.. has it been done?

haha, you will need the front strut brace from the xtrail shop too. when i was looking for 'raised king springs' on ebay i did see lowering king springs. From memory i think they were about $250.

I have a mate that's owned heaps of 180's and Silvia's and he gets all his info from Silvia forums. Wouldn't hurt having a look on one of those and see what cars the SR experts have dropped those engines into. i only say that as they will know the ins and outs of the SR engine where as most people on here would be familiar with the QR engine only.

From memory Rich aka basshead owned a Pulsar. maybe he might have some info?

I shot my mate a message and asked him what the best SR forum is so when I hear back I will let you know.

In the meantime there is this facebook group if you're on facebook that it https://www.facebook.com/groups/jdmst/ JDM style tuning

Cheers

Max

Yes Jalal for sure, why am I only hearing about the GT now. Mick scrapt the SRDET and get the xrtrail SRVET. Import a front cut from Japan. My mate with the silvia said that its common for people with the SRDET engines to use the SRVET heads because they are better and make lots of power

Re:

I was very close of importing one from New Zealand, as there some over there and at today's prices they would be very affordable indeed.
