Fuel economy

Hi folks

Sorry i pushed the wrong button on the last post.

What i was wondering is possible reasons for the poor economy on my 2005 T30 Ti

I read some of the other post regarding this but in most of the cases there was a fault light on and i don't have any.

We took it for a drive to Kingaroy from Brisbane. Now on the way out we were towing a empty horse float and therefore i wasn't expecting very good fuel economy. On the way back we did not have the horse float and the economy didn't seem to be much better. We used a full tank for approx 450km, which is bad.

Now what could be the reason for this. Could it be the plugs,? injectors? air filter? and dont forget there isn't a fault light on.

I should also say that it has about 240k on it but the engine isn't missing a beat.

Any suggestions???

Thanks

Damien

Re:

Hi Damien,

Time to change the CAM and Crank sensors mate. Just do a forum search on those and order the 2 pack of sensors from Nissan and replace them yourself. They have adverse affect of fuel economy if one or both of them starts to play-up and they can stop working without throwing any error codes either.
