The fan belt is on the right side of the engine bay, isn't it? Yep right side. On mine I replaced everything (A/C compressor and all pulleys) except the alternator. All just got clagged with dust/mud. Obviously the petrol is different but I'd say just as susceptible to dust/mud.nondisclosed_email@example.com (Toddyh03)Fri, 24 Jan 2014 10:03:41 +0000 Re:https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2080570,from=rss#post2080570https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2080570,from=rss#post2080570My first thought was fan belt also; the location of the sound was the only thing that made me think twice. I am also leaning towards something finding its way through the upper air vents near the bonnet and lodging themselves in the air-con blower fan.nondisclosed_email@example.com (jalalski)Thu, 23 Jan 2014 21:23:07 +0000 Re: High pitch squealhttps://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2080552,from=rss#post2080552https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2080552,from=rss#post2080552My guess would be your fan belt. Either the belt is on the way out or you an issue with tensioner pulleys (relatively cheap), alternator (slightly expensive) or the A/C Compressor (crazy expensive). If you have roadside assistance get them out for a look and they should be able to tell you which of the above it is. Or, if you're handy, you can pull off the belt yourself and try to manually turn everything mentioned above. Should all turn silently and freely.nondisclosed_email@example.com (Toddyh03)Thu, 23 Jan 2014 15:16:18 +0000 Re:https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2080548,from=rss#post2080548https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2080548,from=rss#post2080548Doesn't quite match up but I've had loud and interesting noises come from leaves getting stuck in the air con filter/barrel. Which is exactly where your sound is coming from.nondisclosed_email@example.com (Ian Ewin)Thu, 23 Jan 2014 12:10:13 +0000 High pitch squealhttps://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2080462,from=rss#post2080462https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2080462,from=rss#post2080462By guys just started today as driving along got a squeal getting loader with the revs increasing sound is coming from under glove box area??? nondisclosed_email@example.com (BorisT31)Sun, 19 Jan 2014 12:30:31 +0000
