posticon T32 Nissan X-TRAIL Launch (Official Nissan Announcement)

Image

Hi All,

I have been advised that Nissan Australia will be making a formal announcement today regarding the upcoming new shape Nissan X-Trail which will marketed in Australia as Nissan X-TRAIL T32

Details of the pre-launch notification sent to all Nissan dealers (today) can be found HERE

The brochure includes a schedule of key timings of when Nissan Australia will start marketing the T32 in Australia but the main thing to note is that Registration for Interest for the new T32 is officially open from today and you can do so through THIS link.

The all new T32 will be arriving to Australia sometime in March/April this year.

Who will be the 1st to test drive one? emoticon

Here is a fresh video showing the new T32 X-Trail (marketed as the Rogue in the US) being manufactured in the Tennessee:

Look at the size of the rear quarter windows!!!

Good luck reversing and/or seeing the blind spot from those tiny windows and for those sitting at the back in the 3rd row seat, take an oxygen mask with you if the air-con is not working LOL emoticon

Windows? More like peep holest is really sad to see the traditional boxy exy shape go. It must take real skill to make a bigger car look smaller. Time to design the PEOPLES X-TRAIL.

Also can't stand the way they say Nissan.

NEEESAAAHN emoticon

I'm not keen on the new look. Doesn't even look remotely like an X-Trail any more. It just looks like every other thing emoticon
The tall boxiness is what drew me to the exy in the first place.

Re:

Same here but to be fair, the "boxiness" is what also drew other buyers away from it because it was considered (by some buyers in the market) as being old shaped and out of date/style.

I would have much rather preferred for Nissan to include a bigger engine with this new version of the xtrail which can at least be used for better towing, rather than sticking with the same QR25DE engine and dropping the diesel out of the line-up.

Now, it will just be considered the bigger brother of the Qashqai (old Dualis) and the smaller brother of the Pathfinder.

All three models look the same now.
All people have to do is say small, medium or large and they are given the appropriate model.

Re:

If I am going to upgrade it will not be the new X-trail as the all new MUX offers full 4x4 for around the dollar mark for the new X-Trail will cost.

Nissan has lost me as a customer for any range of their vehicles.

Regards Scot.

I don't think it will be a viable option for me either, simply because it's not worth upgrading from one CVT to another (for me at least).

The dimensions specs of the new T32 Exy:

HERE is a good thread which has the measurements of both previous models (T30 and T31): By the looks of it, the new T32 is indeed a longer vehicle but is not as high as the T31. In terms of interior space, the rear passenger seat is wider than the T31, but the two front seats (driver and passenger) are narrower.

The Cargo Space is also smaller (which is pretty obvious) and is rated to carry a maximum load of only 550L compared to the T31 which is rated at 603L, so here goes the biggest selling point of the X-Trail (the biggest boot space in its class!)
