Global CVT service recall Dualis, Xtrail, Murano - Nov 2013
I just saw this on the German forum: http://www.autobild.de/artikel/nissan-qashqai-murano-x-trail-serviceaktion-4451923.html
Rough translation looks like this:
quote: Nissan Qashqai (=Dualis), Murano, X-Trail: Service Special - 14/11/2013
Nissan recalls three vehicle models with CVT transmission for reprogramming of the controller in the workshops. Worldwide 273,624 Qashqai, Murano and X-Trail are affected.
With various Nissan models the thrust belt of the CVT transmission can slip momentarily when operating under heavy load or on a slippery road surfaces. Therefore recalls Nissan Qashqai and Qashqai+2 (Build December 1, 2006 to 15 May 2012), X-Trail (29 November 2006 to September 9, 2011) and Murano (Z50: August 5, 2003 to 3rd September 2008; Z51: June 23, 2008 to December 25, 2010) for service into the workshops.
Reason: If these operating conditions occur frequently, it could lead to wear on the thrust belt, which could result in vibrations, reduced propulsion or the illumination of the check engine light.
The necessary reprogramming of the CVT control device takes about 15 minutes and can be done with the next service. Worldwide 273,624 vehicles (Germany: 15 513) are affected.
I could find any English site however I only googled for a minute.

Re:
I can't find this recall anywhere but I found a later statement by Nissan CEO finally admitting CVT defect do exist (see article on December 2013 HERE)

Re:
I got that, but why is it only being reported by that German website and no one else?

Re:
OK, so why is it only being reported in Germany and nowhere else? Usually news of a recall that is of a Global scale like that makes it to the top news in Europe.

Re:
It might only be Euro Nissan's covered by this recall.
We would have surely heard something by now seeing that the recall started in November 2013.
