Re: My extended warranty just expired.

Mine just expired (6 yrs Dec 2013)
Items replaced under new car warranty:
- CVT Transmission at 33,000kms (new one making same noises but they refused any further action; car still drives great so perhaps no problem)
- Front splines greased and tightened.
Items replaced under extended warranty:
- Both fuel senders "out of spec" (Fuel gauge top bars not working)
- CVT Shifter mechanism (faulty microswitch - the couldn't get out of Park issue)
I'd be concerned about the noise if they replaced a tranny @ 33,000km for the same noise previously

Re:
I bought Extra Time / Extra Distance to get to 150,000km/5 years.
At 106,000kms - my car went into limp mode on the way back to Canberra. Culprit: EGR valve sensor. I got a hire car Kluger for 5 days (as i was more than 100kms from home), then a Corolla after 5 days from Nissan dealership where it was towed to (Goulburn) and got the whole EGR replaced (as the sensor is emded in the EGR).
Then at 110,00km - injector failure as advised by my mechanic. Wrong! One of the valves has to be replaced.. and its not a serviceable part... yep: ENGINE BLOCK AND CYLINDER HEADS are being replaced with a brand new one! I was also given a Petrol CVT T31 to use while its off the road (so far 3 weeks, will be probably another 4-6 weeks before the engine comes in from Japan). Nissan is covering all servicing costs on the complimentary vehicle as well.

Re:
Did you have to fight for that with Nissan Australia or everything run smoothly with the warranty claim?

Re:
at this point, i haven't had to fight them.
Today they requested from my local dealership (where the car is at) for a copy of my logbook. Don't think there'll be too many problems, considering 9 of 11 services were by the dealer. Of the other 2, 1 of them was the service where they identified the injector problem, and the previous 100,000km one was just a simple oil change really which I got done while the clutch was being replaced.
but... you never know! I'm sure once they see the last 2 were not-dealer ones, their tune may change.
