Are they series resistors or parallel resistors ?
Usually flasher units work off current and if series reistors then the current will still be small for the LEDs and the flasher will sense the lower current and hyperflash think a bulb is blown.
Measure the current with a standard globe and then with the LED+resitor unit to compare if there is much difference.

Replacing the parker globes with LED is still fine and doesn't give any errors.

As I said previously, I have replaced the parkers, fog lights, reverse lights and all internal roof lights to LED without any problems.

When you say the lights aren't bright from the side are you using the 3D globes?

hey phil a 3d globe has LED's on multiple sides like this:
that way you get shine out the back and the sides. i don't know if cree make these tho. it would fix your brightness problem but not the hyper flashing one
