Re:
I think the problem might be the version of Bluetooth installed in the Eclipse Head unit. Have a look at this article:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bluetooth
It indicates that there are a number of editions of Bluetooth. Some of them are backwards compatible but others aren't. I'm wondering if perhaps the Eclipse unit is Bluetooth 1.2. Why I say this is that some phones might have the ability to adapt back to BT 1.2 whilst other more recent phone types might have a higher version of BT installed. What version of BT is installed in the Galaxy S4? Knowing this might explain a lot of things.
My Blackberry has BT 2.0+EDR and therefore is backward compatible to 1.2 and might be the reason I'm not having any particular connectivity problems.

Re:
It turns out (According to Wikipedia) that the Galaxy S3 and S4 have BT 4.0LE.
BT 4.0LE is supposed to be able to adapt to the early versions of BT but I'm wondering if perhaps the Eclipse is having problems with this? Dunno...it's a problem with 1's and 0's.
But I have found a compatibility chart for the Eclipse unit that people might find useful (Jalal, this might be worth putting somewhere...)

Re: Series IV Eclipse Unit (issues with my phone)
Hi all,
Just purchased a Samsung Galaxy S Duos and it connects perfectly to the Eclipse (AVN726EA) until a call is made or received then no sound at either end. In fact it will play music, automatically disconnect when the phone rings and re-connect when the call is finished, but absolutely no voice can be heard through the speakers nor by the person at the other end.
Emailed Samsung and they initially said to try a bluetooth APP, which I did and still had the same problem. Emailed them again and they said to try it on other head units and if the problem persisted then to send it in for repair. Also emailed Eclipse and they said they had heard of this problem, but that I needed to keep an eye out for Samsung software upgrades.
Unfortunately I don't have another head unit to try it on yet, so I'm going to try some other Bluetooth Apps to see if that will fix the problem.
Interesting thing was that in 2011 I purchased an Huawei mobile that had a similar problem and returned it to d*** Smiths and got an LG which worked perfectly, until it went bung a few weeks back.
Duos is a dual SIM phone, although I only use a single SIM in it, and I'm wondering whether anyone else has successfully used a dual SIM phone with their Eclipse.
(Sorry about the swearing that is obviously short for Richard!!! - didn't realise the language settings were so sensitive)

Re: Series IV Eclipse Unit (issues with my phone)
Sorry all,
Meant to say that my is a Series 3, but it's the same head unit hence the reason for adding to this thread.

Re:
I'm afraid I can't help you with the Galaxy S Duos, although as in previous entries in this thread, others have had problems connecting the Galaxy S4.
Good news though is that the Samsung Galaxy Express 4G seems to be compatible - my wife bought one recently and it connects and responds to calls with no problem at all.
It's compatibility issues like this that make me scared of updating from my tired old BlackBerry Storm. At least I know it works correctly on Bluetooth. As Kris mentioned earlier it's all very much a hit and miss affair.

Re:
My son has the Samsung Galaxy S2 and while we haven't tested it in terms if receiving phone calls, it seems keep dropping out the Blutooth pairing connection at all times and the track skip (for the Blutooth audio) can't be operated from the Eclipse head unit, so he has to do the track skip from the phone itself.
