rear modular storage system

Working on rear modular storage system that must be completely removable and returned to stock configuration if desired:
> module 1 - rear part used as a rear cargo
> module 2 - extendable, a full-length sleep system that could occupy the back seat area as well

work in progress......

Looking good. I'm planning on something similar to lower my floor as well (to fit fridge in)

Re:

Do you guys have your spare wheel on an arm outside, placed elsewhere or would everything need to be removed to access it?
If elsewhere, what do you store in the well?

Dejan,

What type of ply did you end up using? Marine? How thick?

Re: Re:

The rear part of "sleep" platform is fixed to Seatback frame with hinge. So I can lift the platform to quickly remove/refill fuel and water tanks. Spare wheel is in the well, under fuel tank.

I used white poplar ply - 18mm thick. Poplar is very lightweight.

Re:

I'm waiting for my wheel carrier to be installed then I'll build my storage system just in case the wheel carrier doesn't fit properly. Got a couple of designs but the main thing is to slide the boot part over the back seats using a couple of drawer slides (maybe a few). I did contemplate a hinge "fold over" but I've got a fridge and powerpack that will need to be moved together from the boot to the seat. The spare tyre well will become extra storage for water or, something not required often can be stored there or muddy stuff like snatch straps!

Re: Re:

Looks like a well thought out and very workable design.

Very impressive.

I like the support struts to the rear of the front seat rails, but at first glance, I might need to extend the rails the way the seats are set at the moment.

I'm looking forward to further opportunities to pick your brains to modify my own Exy to a camper.

The mods after your second camping trip will be the ones to wait for emoticon
