The sound comes up through the wheels and resonates down the length of the babin gradually finding its way back into the little recess, suprisingly the addition of a cherry ripe shaped object has a counter volume effect and it tends to reduce rather than increase the noise. It will be virtually undetectable for most being as its function operates at less than 0.005DB, but thats what its there for. Ps If anyone believed this I have a couple of bridges for sale.nondisclosed_email@example.com (valkie)Mon, 23 Jun 2014 14:52:00 +0000 Re: That little pocket above the radio...https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2082392,from=rss#post2082392https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2082392,from=rss#post2082392I keep the Leatherman (in its leather case) in there. It is also really great for Cherry Ripe storage as well! LOL Dad uses it for Camera related odds and sods, and has the top glovebox full of camera acc. Just another of my useful storage spots. Stripped the cable. Power runs off the 12v accessory. Data goes to head unit. Align the dock so the back of the phone rests against the dash for extra support. I've never had it come loose while driving, even off road. Why do that to the cable? Head unit only provides charge when iPod mode is selected, and as i mostly use a usb stick or wifi for music it would be mostly useless as a charger.nondisclosed_email@example.com (MrMez)Thu, 19 Dec 2013 15:40:54 +0000 Re: That little pocket above the radio...https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2079981,from=rss#post2079981https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2079981,from=rss#post2079981Im not sure if you know but that is the specially designed Cherry ripe storage unit. Like the idea of the GPS mount - must try it. At the moment I have used the flat sticky for my mobile phone cradle, except its stuck to the bottom of the drivers drink holder (the one with the flap at the top right of the dashboard) so I know the sticky actually works on that black plastic.nondisclosed_email@example.com (Translucidus)Sun, 23 Jun 2013 23:17:56 +0000 Re: That little pocket above the radio...https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2075165,from=rss#post2075165https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2075165,from=rss#post2075165I use it to keep my remote for the garage door in.Ive lined it with some of that sticky foamnondisclosed_email@example.com (StanW)Thu, 20 Jun 2013 20:53:44 +0000 Re:https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2073564,from=rss#post2073564https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2073564,from=rss#post2073564My iphone also sits in there regularily.nondisclosed_email@example.com (konazz)Sat, 04 May 2013 18:09:39 +0000 Re:https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2073562,from=rss#post2073562https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2073562,from=rss#post2073562You're either an "agressive" driver or the pack of smokes you buy is too wide LOL nondisclosed_email@example.com (jalalski)Sat, 04 May 2013 16:33:56 +0000 Re: That little pocket above the radio...https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2073547,from=rss#post2073547https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2073547,from=rss#post2073547I don't see any other use for it besides the GPS mounting location or the remote headend for the UHF radio. Shoving the sticky pad (after using the usual vacuum seal to lock the GPS to that pad) into the cavity gives a convenient and solid placement for the GPS touch screen. Hard to describe, but if you have a sticky pad with flat point designed for a suction mount, then first mount the GPS vacuum seal to that mount. Then slide it into the mini-shelf and press down hard. That will glue the mount to that point and give you a GPS slightly to the left, and within easy reach, but below windscreen view level for the average driver while not interfering with airflow or visibility. That site works for me to easily reach the touchscreen of the GPS without distraction.. As it is closer than a windscreen mount, the GPS screen is relatively larger. It works for me. nondisclosed_email@example.com (DogTrail)Fri, 03 May 2013 21:04:27 +0000 Re:https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2073531,from=rss#post2073531https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2073531,from=rss#post2073531I put my iPhone in there but I do have the phone in a protective case, so it doesn't slide anywhere. However, what's with the little shelf that is built above the GPS/radio slot? It's not really big enough to put much in, and anything that you do manage to fit in there falls out as soon as you accelerate. I'd be curious to hear if anyone has discovered a purpose for this thing. It seems to be crying out for someone to make a little door for it (like the one that's under the radio), or to design some useful instrument or gauge that fits into the slot. Is there anything about?nondisclosed_email@example.com (SpikyGS)Fri, 03 May 2013 13:15:38 +0000
