Re:

Mate, I reckon you should start reading the towing section of the forum to clearly understand the capabilities of your xtrail and the towbar. THis information has already been covered-off.

We have now addressed the towbar wiring question in this thread.

Re: Towbar wiring for T31

Hi,

I recently purchased a 2nd hand towbar for a T31. The Towbar went in alright (after some filing), but I can't find a connection for the supplied wiring loom. It looks completely different than the image on the first page and the instruction I managed to find doesn't really match either. I suspect that this one came out of a different car. If it belongs to the T31 could someone please tell me where it suppose to go.

Re:

These wiring looms connect to the factory harnesses which are hidden on the left side of the rear of the car and you will need to remove the boot plastic trimming to see them.

Re: Towbar wiring for T31

I had them off. Both sides actually. There was one plug big enough and with enough wires going in behind the left plastic trimming. I thought this would be the right one, but it didn't fit. This is definitely the right plug?

Re:

Re: Towbar wiring for T31

The towbar itself definitely fits, but I'm not sure about the loom. It also came with a bracket for the plug where the trailer connects to. This bracket had two holes to mount it on the towbar, but I couldn't see any holes drilled in the towbar where this bracket was originally mounted. That got me a bit suspicious. I might contact the wrecker tomorrow. He probably thinks I'm an idiot.

I notice there is a part number on the loom, ring Nissan parts to see if the numbers match.

Re:

The trailer plug is drilled and attached to the bumper, so there are no pre-drilled holes for it to be attached to.
