Re:

Yes Mark that sounds about right. I figure we will be off the beach by 2 or 3pm at the latest. We can get off at either end if needed. I'm thinking we do the run down to Evans Head first and check it all out. Then head back towards Ballina and stop somewhere for lunch.

Only 4 weeks away now. Fingers crossed for nice weather.

I reckon my kids will want lunch at the kiosk at Evans...an ice cream at the very least :-)

I think we're more definite now as there's a lantern parade in Lismore on the Saturday that my wife wants to see.

Cheers,
Mark

Hi Mark.
Can you pencil Melinda & Myself in for that day.
Depending on Melinda's work roster, as she had to change jobs.
But will confirm, closer to the date.
Also a mate of mine Mick, might be along on the day as well in his Navara.
Him & his wife, Ellen came to one of Scott & Wendys weekends away.
This will depend on his work roster as well.

If anyone wants any recovery practice, in their Exy's;
the Navara should be there to practice on.
(Don't tell Mick I said that.)

Re:

Hi Mark.
Melinda & myself will be there on Sunday,
we will meet you at the caravan park for coffee.

Unfortunately Mick & Ellen cant make it,
Mick has to work.
He said by 10am Sun, he will be half way to Sydney, driving his semi;
I told him by abut 11.00, we should be half way to Evans Head.
I wont repeat what he told me.
So we wont have the Navara there, to drag along the beach.

See you there.

Re:

Sounds great.

Newbie question (it's our first time off road)...are the standard tyres OK for beach driving? I have a tyre pump in the boot, so letting the tyres down isn't a problem.

Does any one have recovery equipment? emoticon

Re:

Yeah mate, in fact road tyres usually better than aggressive off-road tyres for sand driving. The only real downfall is the lack of sidewall height on the stock wheel/tyres. But to answer your tyre question; yes. Recovery equipment will depend on who attends, etc.

Re:

Yes Mark. Like Ian said... normal road tyres are fine for sand. I'm on normal H/T's and have a compressor too. I have a snatch strap but should not be needed. I was on the same beach a few months ago and the entry/exit is quite short. With the recent rain it won't be very fluffy either.
