Re: Max's T30

It was a spring mounted whip antenna so it had plenty of flex. Never damaged it in the bush.
Konazz had his mounted on the roof which was excellent for long distance but obviously not ideal for bush tracks.

Re: Max's T30

thats good to know. i took the fiance for a drive yesterday up the beach and asked her if it was bothering her and she said no. it wasn't moving much. it may move a bit more on a real bumpy track.

now for the next mods..........i have to purchase the GIZ snorkle.i go through phases where i think i can do it no worriesand other phases where i think WTF am I doing haha. ihave been emailing kev a lot which gives me confidence.

i also want some old man emu shocks to go with my king springs. they will cost $227 each from arb in broome.

there is also he exhaust issue - low clearance. im limited with what i can get in broome. i went to the exhaust shop just to see if they could customise a smaller rear muffler. they were really unhelpful and put it in the too hard basket. ahhhhh the pitfalls to living in paradise

Get someone is Perth to do it and get them to ship it up if it's cost effective. I got mine done at Ramp Auto Group. The guys there are fantastic.

Re:

Yeap. Got a couple of not very good pics in my ride area but the cat back exhaust is 2.5" stainless steel. smaller than factory. just double check with them about delivery. i dropped mine in. exhaust was made and fitted on the day for $1200. they're on fb if you're on it. Adrian was the guy i talked to and he was excellent to deal with. a bit slow with the response because they are always busy but he knows his stuff.

Re:

For that price you might as well go the twin muffler Hi-Tech cat. back system which comes with 10 years warranty mate. At least you will be getting an X-Trail specific system that has been tested and proven to work over many years and one that gives you not only looks but extra power as well. Just a thought

Nice mods Max, well done mate emoticon

i didn't get the hi tech system because it wasn't cost effective. i still had to pay for someone to install it.

Re:

That's fair enough Reggie, I was suggesting this to Max to consider, as the T30 system is different and can be done in your own driveway if you have access to ramps.

Re: Max's T30

Thanks Jalal!

I like the pictures of the stainless exhaust reggie but yours is a T31, aren't they mounted differently from the T30. With the T30 the muffler sits horizontal to the car ie east to west where as with the T31 it runs along the car ie north to south. that means its a less complicated swap ad you're just putting a smaller muffler on. with the t30 I have to move the position of the muffler altogether which meansd new mounting points etc.

My issue with the High Tech Jalal is the shipping cost to Broome. if I was in Sydney I would buy it in an instant. Im not really fussed on power gains etc. My main reason is clearance. the shipping would be as much as the exhaust ahahaha
