Just googled that Tyre Trek mount. It looks really good, may look at one of them, so I can carry a full size spare while I am touring.

Re: Max's T30

Hey guys and girls,

My tyre trek rear wheel carrier has just arrived and I have just fitted it. It attaches via the tow bar and it also has detachable dual jerry cans as well as a light pole. I haven't got the pole on at the moment. You can also but a shovel mount and high lift jack mount which i didn't buy. It can open to 90 degrees then lock in place or 180 degrees and lock in place there. Once its inserted into the tow bar there is a bolt to tighten that opens up a wedge inside your towbar assembly so that it won't rattle. Nifty huh! Now i can get a rear wheel rubbish bag emoticon

Re:

Looking good Max. Can you still make use of the hitch for towing with this thing on?

Also, I think it'll be easier for you to order a bike rack number plate instead of having to relocate your standard plates everytime this rack is on emoticon

Re: Max's T30

no Jalal you can't tow as this sits in the tow bar sleeve. i'll put it on in the dry season and take it off for the wet as we dont go camping then. Same as I do with the roof tent.

Re:

That looks great, how much did it cost, if you don't mind saying? I am thinking of getting one for my T32.

I like the idea of the bike rack number plate Jalal.

Cheers

John

Re: Max's T30

It was around $1300 plus shipping from Qld so it was around $1600 all up. Not cheap but I'm happy.

Re:

Thanks for the write-up emoticon

I really like that now that i've seen it installed, but Kev's idea has merit too.
Hopefully it goes very well on the Gibb River Road, as that's where i'm planing to go next year if all goes well.
And it's reasonably close for me to go get one in Toowoomba.

Re: Max's T30

yeah having jerry cans on the side would be good however there is no option for that for the T30, thus we are stuck with what is available to us. I'm sure it will travel well on the gibb. Be sure to swing over to Broome if you do the Gibb.
