Hunter Range, Saturday 16 March 2013

Hey All I've decided a nice easy trip is in order for the new year. So on Saturday 16 March 2013 I will lead a scenic trip around the Hunter Range (off Putty Road). This trip is suitable for all X-Trails including brand new ones with H/T tyres. If it rains it may become a little bit tricky but still should get through without too many hassles.

Plan is to meet at Putty (the 'town') at 9am on the day. On Putty Valley Road, just off Putty Road should be a good spot. If you are coming from Sydney you can expect it to take you a bit over 2 hours each way. The actual trek is a little over 100km so will take the best part of the day to complete.

There is a few very scenic sections of track, a couple of lookouts and an historic hut to see along the way.

Show your interest here.

Attending:
Toddyh03 - Todd (modified T31)
Strez - Gail (standard T31)
ExyJef - Jeff and Leonie (standard T31)
Rescue1 - Alan (modified T31) - TBC
ChrisM 09TS - Chris (standard T31)
dlpeek - Dave (modified T31)
Jupitor2 - Peter (T31 with bash plates)
Valamas - Mike (standard T31 - brand new)

IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER:

* please read the event rules before coming on this trip. They can be viewed HERE

* All participants on this run are to have signed off on the new trip rules as posted HERE before being allowed to attend this trip.

If you have non members attending this event, could they please read the rules and have them acknowledged by a member of the forum on their behalf!

Edit: If you have or can borrow a UHF radio please bring it. It's not 100% necessary so don't worry if you can't get one, but it does make life easier out there.

Edit #2: Make sure you fuel up going through Windsor and bring your lunch and anything else you might need during the day. There is no supplies/facilities out there at all.

That's a shame Jalal. Would be good if you could get out on this one. I am still yet to see the Red Bull on dirt.

Re:

It has seen some dirt but not much. I can't change the RTA booking as it costs a fortune to book and the spots fill out pretty quick.

There is always a next time I guess emoticon

Hi,
I am interested in this trip. It will be my first dirt road trip so sounds suitable for a beginner.
I don't have my roster for that week yet, so will confirm when it's out.
Will be coming from Syd, nervous but excited.

No problem Gail. It's a very easy trip and should be a great introduction for you. I'll add you to the list as tentative at this stage.
