Broken Driver's Glove Box Lid

Hi,
I have a broken part on my glove box lid, driver's side ('04 Ti).
It's the spring and attachment point, that I found on the floor.
Anyway, I need to remove the box to make a repair, or replacement. Does anyone know how to remove that box?

Regards
Glen

Re:

Pull everything out and you will see two plastic clips at either end of the bottom of the glovebox. Get a small screwdriver and push it in between the box and the clip, they will slide out towards the inside of the box and then it should come out.

It's the same procedure as accessing the micro-filter .... try this: http://www.rycofilters.com.au/library/news/RCA113P%20Nissan%20X-Trail.pdf

Ben,

Glen is asking about the driver's side storage box, not the passenger glovebox emoticon

Re:

Ahh... missed the part where it said driver's side emoticon Surely there are clips at the hinge or something like the glovebox

Re: Re:

I remember seeing a post somewhere on this forum that stated "the box lifts out easily", but I can't move mine, and I don't want to stuff it up with a Herculean effort when I should have undone that tiny hidden screw. Besides, Hercules is probably busy.

Re:

It lifts out easily in the T31 model, but I haven't taken the driver's storage box off when I had a T30, so am not really sure what is involved in removing it. One of the T30 guys will soon be able to help you for sure.

Re:

OK it does not look like you can get the lid off and need to remove the whole box - for this you probably need to remove the cloth grille that covers the top right speaker/air con vent and then remove the speedo cluster surround. The cluster surround (they call it cluster lid A) just pulls off if you pull it towards the rear of the car and then you can access the screws

PS sorry about the size of those pics, right click them and do "open image in new tab" to see the full size ones, the forum resizes them down
