Re: The Monster
I'd barely had the car a week before I took it out to Stockton Beach, after which the first "need" became added ride height/clearance. Cue forum research & online trawling.. A few long-days and late-nights later, the exy was booked into Bowers at Merewether. Thanks due to the new King Spring Coils; she now stands 35-40mm taller, whilst having gained an increase in both response and cornering. It would seem my little monster is growing up

Re: The Monster
Ok, so I'm finally getting around to updating my modifications progress, um, I mean, uh, members ride thread. These tyres took a lot of sourcing and fiddling, and they are sitting on a set of black 16x7 Terra's by King Wheels. The wheels are an ET18(offset) and the tyres are Hankook Dynapro MT's in 235/70.

Due to the decreased offset/increased wheel-track there were initially some issues with scrubbing, etc.

But after working some magic with the angle-grinder and cutting knife, and adding some tough 3mm rubber lengths behind the gaps, etc. I still have functioning wheel-wells, but now with no scrubbing :') You won't spot my handiwork with the grinder, as I primed and recoated immediately after, so no stressing over future rust or corrosion of any kind

Re: The Monster
So a while back I set aside some time during the week to insulate the boot, simply because it was annoying me. What ensued could only be described as overkill...
I started with the boot trim panel, which then spread to all of the trim pieces that frame the window in the tailgate.. unfortunately I only took photos periodically, either when frustrated or after gaining a new battle-wound and returning from the infirmary with a new bandaid/bandage.
Here is the tailgate:

Then it became an obsession to find and remove all audible sounds coming from the car, ie. rattles, thumps, droning, anything except complete and total silence
All remaining doors: front then rear, ps. to anyone thinking of doing this to their car, T30 owners, go for it! T31 owners, be prepared for a s***-fight when you tackle the front doors, as they have a solid PITA-to-remove panel over the cavity inside the door(after you've removed the trim, etc)

So thus concludes another traumatic episode of "Let's fix/upgrade this one part(but really we'll do the same thing to every component that comes into contact with that one part)"
The inside of all my door panels now look like this!

Re: The Monster
A few weekends back I finally got around to putting my forum stickers on the car. Probably one of my favourite additions by far.

Re: The Monster
Just before christmas I also got myself a new set of Rhino Rack heavy duty bars. Here is a photo of the first two (there's a third in the works);

Re:
And here is the reason I got the roof racks, aka my christmas present to myself.
Note: It's not properly set up, I had just unfolded it while test-fitting.

Nice Ian,
It's all ready to go.
When do you think you'll be able to pick up that mattress?

Re:
Thanks, Tony. I'm looking at making a trip to sydney sometime in the next few weeks(unfortunately not in my control) and had planned to continue over your way whilst in the area. I promise as soon as I know, you'll know.
