Seven Mile Beach - Lennox Head, Saturday Feb 9th

Hi,

Calling all SEQ and Northern NSW members for a beach run on Seven Mile Beach - Lennox Head on Saturday Feb 9th.

The beach access is 5 min drive behind Lake Ainsworth in Lennox Head.
The BOM indicates a Low of [sign in to see URL] meters is at 1400, so [sign in to see URL] would be a great time to hit the sand.
I have never been there before, but from the info gathered on the Internet it's a straight drive down the beach for about [sign in to see URL]. I basically thought it would be nice to explore the beach, decide on a picnic stop where we can have lunch followed by a swim / surf or any other activity. You are encouraged to bring your beach toys (kids and adult toys that is).

Driving on the beach requires a permit which you can purchase at Lennox Caltex Service Station, Byron Street, Lennox Head. Permits can also be purchased at two other locations in Ballina. The cost is:

Annual Permit $[sign in to see URL]
Six Month Permit $[sign in to see URL]
30 Day Permit $[sign in to see URL]

Meeting point will be at [sign in to see URL] at the Caltex Service Station, Byron Street, Lennox Head.
We can purchase our permit and then head into the beach access, lower our tier pressure and start our day.

Possibly after exiting the beach we can go for another swim at Lake Ainsworth. For the members who are not familiar with Lake Ainsworth, its waters are dark due to the tea tree growing on its banks.

If you are interested, put your hand up and let’s see if we can come up with the numbers.

Attending so far:
Surfie71 - Ty and family
Helenandme - Nick
mmcdon23
BorisT31 – Steve

As with any trip please make sure you read the below message.
****Important disclaimer, please read the event rules before coming on this trip. They can be viewed ]HERE

Regards
Ty

Re: Seven Mile Beach - Lennox Head, Sunday Jan 13th

No worries Nick.
We are going to be busy virtually every weekend in December (School and kids parties and an overseas family visit).

So it will have to be January. Say Sunday the 13th.

Re:

wow sounds good mate I'm always heading down that way as I'm helping my parents get there property ready for sale near lismore. Since i have only had bush style 4wd experience my whole life and I've been magerly sceptical of salt water and cars I'm keen to at least give it ago once. plus it would be a good catch up since we last met a year ago. and since ive been introduced to kayak fishing it mite give me a good chance to find some potential good fishing/camping locations on the way. its a shame Jamie cant make it as he was hassling me a few weeks ago about showing my face again lol.

Re: Seven Mile Beach - Lennox Head, Sunday Jan 13th

G'day Ty...
Helenandme are planning on a camping trip to Lake Ainsworth, but it won't be until 20th Jan cause I have a "fun" run on 13th... Let me know if rescheduling is possible for you and mark and we will lock it in...

Re:

I'm ok with either 13th or 20th. Could even do both with a 30 day permit!

Re:

That's why I like Surfie71. He's always organizing the fun. I will put the car on the sand on Jan 13th but it will be in Stradie! I don't want to mess with your event, but I might be able to attend if it's by the end of January. It's a long drive for me, so I better off get accommodation for the weekend in Byron Bay.
