Re: New diesel?

Wow Marc. Sorry to hear that. I guess that's it for your exy then. Can buy another '08 for less than that.
Whats the plan now?
I wonder if other diesel owners can change the fuel filter to prevent something like this happening to them?

Re:

$25K sounds frightfully expensive. I'm certain you could source an entire second hand M9R engine - even imported from overseas - for less than that.

Marc this is not a good out come for you and I hope Nissan stands by you and help you get back on the road if by they give you a exy in the same year with the same specs as yours.

What else is Nissan going to run from?

Regards Scot.

Re:

I just can't believe that the damage from the contamination of the metal fragments caused such damage to the cylinder walls that the entire engine needs to be replaced and I won't be suprised if Nissan just want an easy way out with this fix...just swap it all and let the customer foot the bill!

Re: Re:

A catastrophic situation for you.

I don't see coverage under the the usual insurance policies.

There should be coverage under the Australian 'fit for purpose' consumer legislation.

I would hope that Nissan would come to the party with cards and gifts.
