16-Nov: Brindabella National Park
Thought I'd invite any Xtrail'ers interested in joining a small troupe through the Brindies.
I've got a land cruiser and bt-50 in the group.
Date: Saturday 16/11/12
Meeting: cnr of my Franklin rd and brindabella rd.
time: 8:30am
The plan: (draft) descend Gentle Annie trail to flea creek. Then cross the creek and head along webbs ridge rd to powerline track. From here it gets interesting, as ill figure something out to include mt coree, mountain tracks near doctors flat rd and potentially finishing up in wee jasper valley in the afternoon. Side trip may include McIntyre's hut and a few small lookouts or picnic spots.
Will do a bit more research closer to the day, but will have a plan soon as one of the properties that needs to be crossed near wee jasper is private property.
If I get any interest, then ill add the disclaimer - I'm on my iPhone at the moment.

Re: 11-Nov: Brindabella National Park
They are meant to be re-assessing after the king tides in early December so fingers crossed.

Sorry for hijacking your thread Michael. Arthur see Stockton report here. As I said they are re-assessing in December after the king tides.

Re:
I would say probably not. I haven't been on webbs ridge rd or the powerline track so i can't guarantee.
To get to webbs ridge rd, you have to descend Gentle Annie fire trail - where I ripped off the plastic bash plate, and I'm not sure how rough it gets on the other side of the creek.
I'll check it out and plan a standard xtrail day, to include mt coree, two sticks rd and ill see where else a standard can go.

Re:
Just a quick fyi... date changed to a week later, and now on Saturday... so if any ACT'ians feel like tagging along, all the better... so far its only me in the x-trail, a bt-50 and an 80 series landcruiser...
For those local who want to go for a play in the morning, we'll do a lap of Mt Blundell to Mt Coree back to Brindabella Rd... should have you back on the black stuff about midday.

Re:
I'm moving from WA to Canberra in the new year and I'd be interested in runs like this next year! I own a TL with no mods but I've had a lot of rugged off-road time here in WA so I'm always open to a challenge. I have viewed your previously posted videos of the area and it looks like the 4WD trails in the Brindies are great fun!
Looking forward to the trip report...
