Stockton Beach

Some of you may be aware that Stockton Beach was closed before the June long weekend due to storm damage and resulting flooded areas and section of quicksand. The have re-opened the entry/exit points and the beach front. The dunes are still closed. See details here

Re: Stockton Beach

Update: Stockton beach front is open the entire length but still may be cut off at high tide. The dunes between Lavis Lane and Anna Bay remain closed. The Recreational Vehicle Area (RVA) located 1.2km south of the Lavis Lane entrance in open.

This basically means you can still have a play in the RVA and can still get to the wreck and Tin City but playing on the rest of the dunes is off limits.

Re: Stockton Beach

Just heard on the grapevine that Stockton beach will re-open for camping as soon as recent big swells subside. Only hearsay at this stage but stay tuned.

Looks like it will be a long time before Stockton is open fully again. See Newcastle Herald article.

Re: Stockton Beach

If all goes to plan I should be heading out to Stockton this Sunday, so I'd be happy to give a bit of feedback on it's current state, etc. (Real life vs. Pen pushers)

Stay tuned!

Re: Stockton Beach

See below the 2 page information brochure that NPWS are handing out at Stockton at the moment. Looks like everything will be closed for a little while longer yet.
