The Black T31

I started with exy's a few years back when I bought a 2nd hand black T30 Ti
Image

Had to make the decision whether to modify it or buy a newer one and start modifying that. After doing some research on the diesel I couldn't go past it. So I bought a 'Nissan executives' car with only 9,000kms on the clock. 2010 TS completely stock standard when I got it.
This was it's 2nd run off-road. A simple little test track to get the feel for the new car. All it had At this stage was the roof racks from my old T30.

Since then I have added:
- tow bar (Hayman Reece)
- hitch mount recovery point
- 35mm Pedders lift
- Yokohama Geolander A/T tyres (225/65/R17)
- Roof Basket (aluminium)
- additional 12v socket in the centre dash compartment (to run the portable GPS)
- 6.5dB UHF antenna. I connected this to an adapter to connects to my 5W handheld UHF. So now I have a portable/hand held and a car mount combined.
- full set of bash plates
- ARB side awning
- GIZ snorkel (modified to fit the T31)
- LED light strip for the side awning
- Redarc dual battery system
- Upgrade the rear shocks to Pedders shocks
- ECB 63mm nudge bar
- Narva 175 blue driving lights
- 1,600kg tirfor style hand winch

This is what the car looks like now

Since
picking it up in January I have done plenty of trips including:
- Meryla State Forest
- Hunter Range
- Barrington Tops (my brother in law has a farm up that way so done it a few times)
- Newnes State Forest
- Baal Bone Gap (partial due to a fallen tree)
- Stockton Beach
- Caves to caves (partial due to high river levels - hoping to complete the run in June)
- Bathurst to Hill End via Long Point Road and Ophir, Sofala to Sunny Corner via Winburndale Nature Reserved and Sunny Corner State Forest
- Sunny Corner to Capertee (the one not suitable for soft roaders)
- Finished Caves to Caves of a forum trip I lead 16 June 2012

Future mods I hope to get done include:
- Monroe gas shocks (front)

Now have also completed the Sunny Corner to Capertee trip (which apparently not suitable for soft roaders - see report here) and the Caves to Caves trip (which I lead as a forum outing - see report here).

I'm thinking at this stage it will be an anderson plug set up direct from the battery with 50A cable into the boot.

Re: The Black T31

Installed a new ARB 2.5m awning last night thanks to some vouchers given to me for my 30th bday. Used L brackets from bunnings and some bolts from my roof basket to attach the bracket to the racks. This is only temporary as I have ordered more bolts and will use nyloc nuts when I want to attach it more permanently.

Re: The Black T31

Haha yeah I originally wanted an awning because being caught on Stockton on a hot day is not fun but Daniel's in the rain clinched the deal.
I compared the 2m and 2.5m and the larger one just looked heaps better (in my opinion anyway). ARB gave me 'trade price' which I'm pretty sure is just code for if you pay retail you are getting ripped off.
