You can count us in at this stage Jalal. We had a great time, maybe extending the forest trip would a good idea.

Yep, I think it's a good idea too, less mud splash this time and more off-roading emoticon

Re:

my wife and I are first timers, both to the forum and to 4wd-ing in general. Given the success of this trip last time (from what i've read), is it do-able in a completely standard CVT exy? no bash plates, no spotlights, OEM tyres on standard 17's?

I'm tentatively keen for this but I'll probably stay at either Arrawarra Beach Holiday Park or Corindi Beach Holiday Park (both approx 5 mins from Lorikeet) as they both allow dogs. Having to board the dogs ends up costing me an extra $50/day.

From the looks of it the majority of 4wding will be in state forests which also allow dogs. If we do venture into a National Park they can just stay in the car.

Re:

Scoobs it will be fine for a stock exy as I did it with no gear on it originally.

This would give all the new ones a feel of what the exy can do and if we do find a challenging bit of track that the experienced ones would like to tackle then it is a great way for all to see what the car can really do and we make sure if you are not comfortable with anything on a track no matter how hard or easy it is and you are not sure then speak up and the more experienced people will stop and talk you thru it.

We all there to help and guide people if and when required.

Regards Scot

Hi Todd,
Although the Lorakeet is not advertised as pet friendly, they did tell us last year that they would look at allowing dogs on a case by case basis. Probably at least worth a phone call or email.

 Scot,
Will you be bringing the camper or are you looking at a cabin like last year?

 Anthony,
My Series 3 is stock on the outside, factory tyres, and the track presented no problems. As Scot said, everyone is here to help.

 John

No cabin this time around as we might get in late again on the Friday night as with starting a new job I might not be able to get the Friday off.

Re:

Hi Guys,

As we are only in the "expressions of interest" stage, Scot mentioned to me in an email that it may be more suitable to start this event on Saturday 29th of September, as Monday 1/10 is a public holiday (Labour Day) in both NSW and QLD. That way no one would need to take any days off work and we will be able to return back on Monday night.

My only concern with this is the crowds on a public holiday.

Let me know what you guys think.
