Upgrading to a larger vehicle :(

Well it's sad news (in a sense) to be reporting that we will be selling our X-Trail and replacing it with a much larger people-mover (Hyundai I-Max Shuttle) as Clare is expecting #3 (and she is adamant 3x baby/child seats wont fit across the back seat). The I-Max has a bigger boot than the X-Trail (and not just the height) and has extra seats which we can use for people/camping gear. I'd prefer the turbo-diesel version, but for the one we've found, the price is too good to ignore. They're few and far between as privately-sold, and car sales yard's markup is excessive (up to $9000 more than what we're paying!).

The good news it's being purchased by the in-laws, so we'll still have access to it if we want to get it dirty again, but somehow I doubt we'll ever get the opportunity to take it out - nor try out the new tyres I only put on it barely a few weeks ago.

I'm selling some of the bits (someone already has dibs on the LightForce's) and the suspension lift is staying (too much effort to remove the spacers!).

I'll still check into the forums on occasion to see what's going on.

Hi Richi,

Wishing you all the best mate and thanks for being part of this forum for such a long time. Not sure if the I-Max can take you places off-road or not, but am sure you will be busy with your kids for a while emoticon

Take care mate.

Re:

Hi Rich,
Just read your UHF for sale thread and thought that I read correctly.
The Xy was a good car but you know that sometimes its just not suited to your needs.
Wishing you all the best with bub number 3 and hope to chat with you again.
Cheers.

Exc choice of vehicle we love those I Max and would have purchased the twin sliding door model to convert to a camper if it had some sort of dial in traction one of the best points with Hyundai is their long warranty good luck
