I forgot to turn them off and when I finished work I found my battery was dead. I had definitely locked the car with the remote. Does this mean there is a fault? Mine is also an '07 model. nondisclosed_email@example.com (madcrazyartist)Fri, 30 Sep 2016 09:40:26 +0000 Re: Head/Parker Lights automatic off when remotely lock doors?https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2090561,from=rss#post2090561https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2090561,from=rss#post2090561Hi All, I didn't know my Xtrail had this feature until now. I left the headlights on and removed the key, and with the buzzer going off, I exited the car and closed the door. When I locked it using the key remote, the headlights turned off. Then when I unlocked the doors using the key remote, the doors unlocked. The headlights turned back on only after I opened the drivers door. It may work on the other doors, I just didn't try it. I've had the car for 5 yrs but I only found this feature of the Xtrail by reading this thread and another one (which has been locked). It's handy to use if you need your path lit at night, as you can turn them off from many metres away. I hope this helps other Xtrail owners as it is a good feature to have. nondisclosed_email@example.com (TopGun65)Sun, 14 Feb 2016 18:57:24 +0000 Re: Head/Parker Lights automatic off when remotely lock doors?https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2064937,from=rss#post2064937https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2064937,from=rss#post2064937My Battery is coming up to 5yrs old (from delivery time - probably add a few months after manufacture). At each service the report is saying battery is still OK. I'm making no comment so as to not upset the Gods of the Electrics!!! The battery in each has only lasted about 3yrs tops. Given my recent experience with batterys and electronics, Change your battery while it's still going. For $130 - $150 at your local seller (We use Century here) it can save all the hassles of being stuck in a carpark / late for work ETC! Will look at low batt alarms. as well If I had opened the door then the alarm would have told me. but guess what, Ive disconnected the bloody thing with a switch, previously mentioned on this forum, cos it drove me nuts LOL Battery is 3 years old. May have been more than an hour too! thanks again. nondisclosed_email@example.com (Lesadelaide)Fri, 27 Jul 2012 23:04:52 +0000 Re: Head/Parker Lights automatic off when remotely lock doors?https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2064889,from=rss#post2064889https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2064889,from=rss#post2064889Hi Les and All,            I tried this sometime back and if you do leave a door ajar, the Xtrail will turn off the lights after about 45 minutes to an hour. However, if you have used the overhead map light and left it on, it stays on until you turn it off, it is not a monitored input.  We also know if you leave the parkers on intentionly in a poorly lit street and lock the car using the remote, the parkers will go out after the courtesy flash. If you want them to stay on, lock the Xtrail by using the key in the door method.  Les, if only after one hour with your headlights left on the battery didn't have enough charge to start it, I would have the capacity of it checked. 10 to 12 amps drain for an hour shouldn't have killed it.  Johnnondisclosed_email@example.com (Johngqld)Thu, 26 Jul 2012 20:43:51 +0000 Re:https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2064885,from=rss#post2064885https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2064885,from=rss#post2064885With the T31 there must also be a cut off as one night my wife didnt close her door properly. I only realised that her door was open because when I started the car it should that a door was open. I can honestly say that the interior light was not on when I walked into the garage...only conclusion I came to was the door was left ajar all night. He! I'm also sure a trip to Jaycar might reveal a "low battery" warning kit of some sort. There are plenty of Headlights Reminder warning devices that sound off when lights are on but ignition is off. Check eBay.nondisclosed_email@example.com (Translucidus)Thu, 26 Jul 2012 17:39:41 +0000 Re: Head/Parker Lights automatic off when remotely lock doors?https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2064881,from=rss#post2064881https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2064881,from=rss#post2064881quote:Lesadelaide wrote: Does anyone have a mod to cause an alarm? Cant find an answer to a problem I have had twice. Travelled in rain , headlights on. Stopped at a beach with radio on, Switched OFF ignition to ACC. One hour later, after a doze, guess what? FLAT battery. Does anyone have a mod to cause an alarm?   nondisclosed_email@example.com (Lesadelaide)Thu, 26 Jul 2012 15:56:05 +0000 Re:https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2061503,from=rss#post2061503https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2061503,from=rss#post2061503I know that in the T30 there is definitely an automatic turn-off of the interior lights after close to an hour of leaving any of the doors open and even after leaving the interior lights on. I experienced that when working on the car and when I left the interior lights on before going overseas. nondisclosed_email@example.com (jalalski)Thu, 12 Apr 2012 07:20:21 +0000 Re:https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2061501,from=rss#post2061501https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2061501,from=rss#post2061501Anyone keen to test this theory out?nondisclosed_email@example.com (cooch t31)Thu, 12 Apr 2012 06:42:32 +0000 Re: Head/Parker Lights automatic off when remotely lock doors?https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2061498,from=rss#post2061498https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2061498,from=rss#post2061498The Body Management module has a power saving feature that turns off all unnecessary power after a fixed period of time and after no activity (switching/driving/door operation etc). I thinks it's 1 hour but a check in the manual will tell. It's probably very difficult to drain the battery under normal conditions of use.nondisclosed_email@example.com (Translucidus)Thu, 12 Apr 2012 00:06:05 +0000 Re:https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2061463,from=rss#post2061463https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2061463,from=rss#post2061463I'm pretty sure it will drain the battery depending on how long they are left on. I don't think they would turn off automatically otherwise as some people do is lock the doors when they travel. They would have to stay on.nondisclosed_email@example.com (cooch t31)Tue, 10 Apr 2012 06:04:24 +0000 Head/Parker Lights automatic off when remotely lock doors?https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2061446,from=rss#post2061446https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2061446,from=rss#post2061446Hi i have a quick question to ask... I currently have a Nissan Xtrail T31 Ti 2007 CVT. I have tested the lights when you lock the doors remotely... I deliberately leave the head/parker lights on, get out of the car and remotely lock the doors with my remote key and the lights do actually turn off straight after you lock the doors. And when you unlock the doors it won't turn back on until you open the door. I'm just wondering.. if you accidently left the head/parker lights on (not deliberately) and locked the doors.. even though the lights turn off automatically after you lock the doors.. will it still drain the battery? Thanks very much! blob2004nondisclosed_email@example.com (blob2004)Mon, 09 Apr 2012 13:56:33 +0000
