Changing the Auto Gear Shift Knob

G'day all,

Hoping someone might be able to offer some help/advise.

I was hoping to change or replace the gear knob on my 2008 T31 CVT..it's looking a little worn on the grey side parts.
Is this at all possible because I cant even figure a way on how to remove it.

Its a little worn and I would either a:like to pull it apart and vinyl wrap it or b:replace it completely with either a factory one or even an aftermarket one, if there is such a thing.

Any ideas?

Sorry if I am asking a question found in another thread however I searched and can't seem to find anything.

Eden,

The CVT gear stick knob is very easy to remove:

You can price the whole knob or just the worn sides from Nissan and replace them as needed.

Re: changing manual gear knob

I successfully removed the gear knob on my manual 2008 Ti X-Trail after watching it on youtube for a similar car. You have to pull the knob upwards, towards the roof, and really put your back into it. The manual says that you should never replace a used gear knob, but I've had mine off and on 3 times and it's still quite firm.

Re: Changing the Auto Gear Shift Knob

Eden,

The simplest way to get your hands on a replacement auto shift knob is the wreckers.

The other option is buy online.

Ebay is one option, Aliexpress is another.

I use both regularly and have very little trouble

cheers,
Tom

That's crazy!

So what do Nissan expect owners to do, replace the whole shifter?
