Great weekend was had by all. Thanks to Jalal, Scot and all the others for making it happen and happen so well.

Here is a Google Map of where we ventured on Saturday with some photo and video links embedded at the appropriate places.

We had a fantastic time, looking forward to seeing some pics taken by some of the cameras with the 2 foot long lenses.

It was great to meet up with some of the other staters and both Vicky and myself are anxiously awaiting another meet up should one get planned again.

Excellent pics guys. Check out the pics I have uploaded in my first post which should be enough until tomorrow when I go through and upload a bit more. It is taking me a while to resize all pics as each one of them is about 9MB is size emoticon

Re: NSW & QLD X-TRAIL Challenge Trip Report (Arrawarra Beach Drive Sunday) :

Hi to all,
When we returned to the park from Coffs harbour, we went for a walk down to the beach. Down to the South at the Headland, you could see them taking boats on and off the beach. Dave came for the drive with us to check it out. Full access to the beach and no permits required. With only one Xtrail we decided to return to the park and see if others were interested in a drive.

Image Image Image

With the 3 other Xtrails of Kev, Dave and Scott, we returned to the headland and set out up the beach. We past the Lorakeet park and all seemed well. At the end of this video, it shows we stopped to let air out of the tyres as it was getting softer under foot. Not long after this I came to a halt but with the assistance of the guys, we got got going again and no real harm done. I sure learnt a lot more about the 4wd system in the next 30 minutes than I had done before.

Theres more to come.
John

Re: NSW & QLD X-TRAIL Challenge Trip Report (Lagoon and beach drive Saturday) :

Hi to all
The first video here shows the lagoon crossing to the beach where we formed up for the official photoshoot. There will be enough stills of that so we cut straight to the beach drive North. This is where we hear that Rescue1 requires to be rescued. We managed past and did a u turn and waited until he was free.

This shows that Rescue1 is now on his way and we all drive South along the beach. The weather is closing in and the light is now fading. After a few photos at the rocks, we drive North along the beach and turn into the lagoon area for the crossing. Check out the Led tail lights that Rescue1 has, you sure can't miss him. After the crossing, it's back to the park for the BBQ.

Brilliant day all round.
John

Great pics and some really good videos. Looking forward to seeing more.

Here are some of mine.

But I was wondering - have we got a caption for this?

Thanks Julie. I thought someone would have snapped a shot off.

Although it looks like Kev is in trouble, he was actually rescuing me emoticon

Good to catch up with you again. Hope your journey back home is a safe one.
