Re:

I still vote for the GoPro.

Mine has been bomb proof for the last year.
It doesnt come with an LCD viewfinder, but one can be purchased separately. Don't really need one since its a pretty wide angle. Just aim it in the general direction and ur done.

If you are using it for diving or can hit good depths snorkelling, you MUST get a housing with a flat lens. Anything below 5-10m and they stock housing makes everything blurry. Apart from that ive had it way past its depth rating and it didn't leak.

Heaps of brackets and accessories available, and heaps of camera modes too.
Can switch video upside down when your bracket is too. Up to 120fps.

Most importantly for me, the housing (and all elements including front lens etc) are all individually replaceable. Ive trashed a few bits mountain biking and climbing. Its good to know the actual camera is always very well protected.

Re:

GoPro had the same problem with the lack of suitable mounting clamps and most of the accessories that are branded GoPro are over-priced based on the brand name it carrys I reckon.

It is an excellent action camera indeed....just out of my price range based on the research I have done when I decided to buy the Drift HD.

Re:

Can't beat a GoPro. As for accessories there are so many aftermarket accessories suplies around its not funny.

I have the WIFI backpack and the LCD backpack. I am still waiting for GoPro to release the iPhone app for the WIFI. I do have the remote for the GoPro too. I have on order a RODE shot gun mic which I will also be able to use on the GoPro as well as my other cameras. GoPro them selves already have most attachments you need, roll bar mount, rod mount, chest mount, double sided taped mounts, board mounts etc etc.

One feature coming in the next few months is that you'll be able to stream directly to the net from a GoPro with the WIFI backpack and an internet connection (smart phone hotspot).

Hacking a GoPro too is able to done. There are heaps of forums out there.

JVC have just released a new action cam also, too early days for me to get one yet.

But at the end of the day it is up to the individual what they choose to purchase.

That and what you intend to use it for. Jump on YouTube and check-out the side by side comparison between GoPro, Contour and Drift HD 1080 and depending on which situation they are being cmpared at the verdict can be quite different.

I have tested my Drift HD steeet driving using the Camzilla triple suction mount and I am amazed by the clarity of the video footage when watching on a PC but more when watching the footage on a full HD TV.
