T30 rear bash plate(s)

Hi,

Since the T31 has rear bash plates available, I thought I'd start a thread for similar protection for the venerable T30. Couldn't find one by searching the forums.

I have been looking for a bash plate to protect the fuel tank, rear diff and perhaps the brake lines but so far the only rear bash plates I've found are from Japanese manufacturers. Have a look:

http://moto-rage.co.jp/product/partslist/nissan/xtrail/nt30.php
http://jaos.co.jp/class_pc/products_catalog/detail.php?products_id=B256440

Unfortunately my Japanese is a bit rusty but from what I gather, they don't seem to ship abroad. Sorry about posting links that contain products that are already available on the Online X-Trail Shop but I couldn't find a dedicated page for the moto-rage plates.

Given that some JAOS products are already available down under, I thought that some of you might know something about these. For example, the image doesn't clearly show how far the JAOS plate reaches under the car. It might just be a metal replacement for the plastic guard we now have under the rear bumper.

In addition, I was under the impression that the T31 rear diff plate might also fit the T30. Anyone tried this out yet? Though I am a bit worried about the plate bolting directly to the diff, I still might get one if it fits without problems.

Re:

Hi Henri,

The Moto Rage page and link is already posted in some thread on our forum, so a search for "motor rage" would bring an existing thread with a link. It is also being referenced in an existing thread about "winch options"

Having said that, MotoRage have NEVER responded to any emails we have sent them before and am talking about trying to approach them since 2004, so maybe their attitude changed in the last 7 years and you might get lucky emoticon

As for the JAOS one, it's not a bash plate, it's just a skid plate that protects the edge of the rear bumper and doesn't extend under the car.

You know what, I had a T30 and I completely forgot to try fitting the T31 diff plate onto it but from memory the diff between the T30 and T31 are identical.

Post a photo of your T30 rear diff and I can tell you if it fits for sure.

Re: T30 rear bash plate(s)

I'll do that the next time I get under the car (which would be next Saturday when I fit the 50mm spacers), but from memory I would say that the diff indeed is identical to the one in a T31. Spent quite a lot of time looking at it last weekend... =)

As for the MotoRage bash plate, I might be able to get one in a couple of months when a friend of mine moves to Japan, but it only protects the fuel tank and I was looking for a bit more coverage. Still have to contact some local companies here in Finland if anyone would be interested in making a custom rear bash plate. My front bash plate was manufactured in Russia and I already received a reply to my enquiry that a rear bash plate will not be made available by them.

Re: T30 rear bash plate(s)

Since I've got a T30 still on hand and the T31, I can give fitting the diff plate a go on the T30. Just have to wait a week or two though when I have some time to do it...

Given the exhaust & muffler location on the T30 compared to the T31 I can't see it fitting....

Alan,

We're talking about the Diff plate, not the rear bash plate which is what you're referring to I assume emoticon

Re: T30 rear bash plate(s)

Both the T30 and the T31 use the same Nissan R145 rear diff so it should fit unless they have changed the housing for the T31 to suit different mounting.

It looks to me as the same.
It has the same mounting holes for the plate to mount to.
