Re:

No sorry, take the part number for the RHD version to your dealer and see if they can find the LHD version of it.

Re: How to light up the steering controls & gear selector (T31 X-Trail)

Completed this mod on my new 2013 ST, Series 5, although I tapped into the park lights as my power source (being only a few LED's I didn't feel the need for a relay to power the steering wheel lights).
Works like a charm, looks good and makes it a darn sight easier to operate the on-wheel controls at night.
Now gotta get time and try illuminating the gearshift, although this is nowhere near as important, seeing as the CVT gear you're in displays on the dash, as does the gear number, if you're diving in manual mode.

Re: Iluminating Steering Wheel Controls

I've just tried the mod per the instructions and it didn't work for some reason.

I'm sure the wire had good contact at both ends.

Anybody got any trouble shooting tips?

Re:

Has anyone had this modification done by Nissan Dealerships or auto electrician?

Want to do this mod but not capable owing to vision problem (colour blind).

Curious as to what a tradie would cost to do the job.

Thanks

Re:

Nissan won't do it of course, but an auto electrician should not charge more than one hour labour for the steering wheel control illumination.

Re: How to light up the steering controls & gear selector (T31 X-Trail)

I performed the steering wheel modification with much trepidation today on my 2012 ST Series 5. I didn't think it worked at first, because it was daylight and the lights are very dim. I had to completely cup my hands over and not let a speck of daylight in to see them.
Works perfectly though!

The gear selector may be next, but I can probably live without it for a while.

Re: How to light up the steering controls & gear selector (T31 X-Trail)

Hmmm, I just noticed today that this somehow disabled all the cruise control buttons on the steering wheel. Once I took the offending cable out, the cruise could be activated again.
Still trying to work out where I went wrong.
