Re: Hi Guys,
I found the solution for the handbrake bypass. You actually need to buy a pre-wired relay with 3 wires in it to be hooked up to the main wiring harness at the back to enable the handbrake bypass to work.
I have come across many of them on eBay US (just search for AVN726EA brake bypass) for around $15.00 bucks or so.
Also, did you know that you can change and/or customize the start-up splash screen on the Eclipse?

Re: In relation to Region Coding, I received the following response from Fujitsu Ten (who manufactures the Eclipse head unit)
quote:
Hi Jalal,
Thank you for your email.
In relation to your enquiry, the AVN726EA cannot be region-unlocked for
Region 1 Playback.
The AVN726EA is manufactured by Fujitsu Ten, a very reputable
Japanese manufacturer, and we always abide by the applicable copyright
laws.
I have no idea what copyright laws they're referring to, but I told them that if Panasonic and SONY are able to offer region-free stand-alone DVD players to the Australian customers without any impact to any laws, why can't Fujitsu do the same?

Re: Yes, that is what I remember as well, that recently all DVD players in Australia became region free and I do know that the region lock is only applicable to Blue-Ray players. Why can't Fujitsu comply with this...they actually got quite annoyed with me hammering them about it LOL

Re: Hi Ann,
I wish you can find this document or legal clause so I can send it to Fujitsu and get them to formally respond to it.
EDIT: I think I found it, I think you're referring to the ACCC "observation" regarding region coding and their media release statement which is detailed in THIS topic. Sadly enough, it never became a formal law, it was only an observation I reckon.

Re: hmm, I'll have to wait for my work mate to come back into town to ask him. He knows how to dig all this fun stuff out of the system.
But I was under the impression it was heading towards a law in the trade practices act. Since every player I saw at the local hardly normal store was suddenly region free.
This may have been a pre-empt with what was happening at the time as well.
Hope they do change the units to region free for any reason as I wouldn't mind getting one in the furture.

Re: I have read so many good reviews about this particular Eclipse head-unit, that even the guys in the US are choosing it and rating it much higher than the popular Pioneer one. Nobody seems to be complaining about the region coding lock either, so I guess they're all burning their favorite DVD movies as all region and watching it that way. Come to think of it, I wouldn't want to be leaving my favorite DVDs in the car in summer, so maybe this what I will be doing as well.

Re: dvd/cd + uv = no dvd/cd
Or high temperatures as well, like the top storage space.
I'm always getting up people at work who put my cd's on the dash for any reason.
So burning is the best option. It also means you don't really lose it if it gets stolen.
