These are basically metal clips that hold the brake pads in place inside the caliper. Do you know whats the part number and where I can get them from? The closest ones that I could find were these: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/152845632084 I need them for front and rear brakes ... If certain brake pad sets come with these, that information will be great as well. The reason why I need them is because I replaced the OE brake pads with Brembo pads and everytime I hit the brake pedal, I hear a clucking noise and I believe that these brackets/clips might have worn out. Any help will be greatly appreciated. I think they've been on there around 3 years (would have to check though) and have saved me once or twice (some people find it difficult to see a moving X-Trail, even with headlights on). My wife wanted a quieter setup on hers, and went the solid rotors, with Bendix CT pads. Not bad, but not as good as the slotted ones. nondisclosed_email@example.com (mfeodoroff)Fri, 27 Jan 2017 10:04:57 +0000 Re:https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2093041,from=rss#post2093041https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2093041,from=rss#post2093041Hi All, Just a quick question as I'm about to replace my front rotors and f and r pads with the DBA slotted and Bendix 4WD pad combo. Is this still the way to go in your opinions? I have a T31 diesel. Manufacturer and parts websites list the part numbers in the first post as good for petrol T31s but not diesel. Is there a difference in rotors and pads between the two? Apologies if I've missed this info elsewhere. The strange thing though is that there were no issues until after about 10000k. I've started braking harder now and I'm noticing that the shudder is almost non existent, Without removing the pads & discs it's starting to look like it could be uneven wear , although looking at them from underneath they seem to be wearing very evenly, possibly due to the way I brake very lightly and not having bedded the brakes in sufficiently when they were first put on. Heading north at the end of the week so any further investigation is going to have to wait until I return in mid August. When the time comes, I'll be putting the new brake pads, more than likely the Bendix 4WD pads, on the original brake rotors as they are barely worn and there is no vibration when I brake. I rotate the tyres every 5,000 k's, so when the wheels are off, I check the brake linings as well. **Update.. 148,000k's, still on the original brake linings all round with about 4mm's left.**nondisclosed_email@example.com (TopGun65)Sun, 05 Jun 2016 17:23:37 +0000 Re:https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2091407,from=rss#post2091407https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2091407,from=rss#post2091407I just found the DIY guide for the T30 front pad replacement so am going to give it a go myself and save some $$$. I've been on the original brake pads/rotors until now. The dealership said the rear pads needed replacing so I got them to fit the genuine Nissan pads. Apparently the rotors were fine. They also said that the front pads will need replacing in the next 5-10,000kms. I'm really happy with the life of the OEM pads and rotors with almost 150,000kms under their belt. Surprised that the rear ones needed replacing before the front ones but anyway... They quoted me an hours labour ($130) to replace the front pads and said the rotors were still fine. I'm planning on replacing the car either later this year or early next year so don't think I need to fork out on new rotors but was just reading about the Bendix 4WD pads which I am thinking of getting them to fit for me. Total quote to replace front pads with OEM ones was around the $350 mark so around $220 for the OEM pads alone. My question is just about how suitable it would be to fit the Bendix 4WD pads to already worn OEM rotors, are they coarser pads designed for rotors like the DBAs or do you think they'll work well without killing the OEM rotors I've got on there now? All in all I've had 144,000 trouble-free kms out of my auto T31 and only changing vehicles to get a car with a 3rd row and better offroad capability. So far tossing up either the Mu-X or a 120 series Prado in the 30-40k mark. My T31 has been a great car though. Thanks in advance. I'm assuming that if the pressure was being applied by only one half of the pad they would wear unevenly and in my case they still look brand new, definitely no unusual wear pattern. The problem ended up being one of the slide pins on one of the front calipers was seized, causing only one half of the pads to apply. That meant the pads were being applied on an angle, which somehow caused the brakes to shudder. I lubricated the pins, put it all back together and the shudder disappeared. In saying that, your car's only 6 yrs old, so that might not be the problem. nondisclosed_email@example.com (TopGun65)Fri, 27 May 2016 16:42:29 +0000 Re: DBA slotted rotors and Bendix 4WD padshttps://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2091381,from=rss#post2091381https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2091381,from=rss#post2091381Like a lot of others I had some serious concerns about front brake shudder, due to the ongoing issue of the factory rotors warping, so I replaced them about 12000ks ago with the DBA slotted rotors and Bendix 4wd pads. They were absolutely fantastic until about a month ago when the shudder returned, albeit not as severe as the factory ones had been, but still a concern and disappointing. Similar to the factor rotors the issue only seems to occur on steep downhill sections eg. Mt. Vic Pass and more so on left hand bends. Checked the pads and they look brand new, but there is some uneven discolouration on the rotor, but no apparent warping. My mechanic mate and I have decided that it could in fact be due to not having sufficiently bedded in the brake pads and/or my light feathering of the brakes, as I do not brake heavily unless absolutely necessary. I have noticed now that by braking more heavily the shuddering reduces significantly and even disappears sometimes, which never would have solved the problem with the factory ones. Has anyone else had a problem with shuddering after replacing the factory rotors with the DBA slotted rotors or the Bendix pads? If so what if anything did you do to fix the problem?
