Re:
What was the result of the battery test? what's the voltage? Have they checked the alternator to make sure it's charging the battery correctly?

Re:
OK then Scot, let them check the dreaded crank sensor and starter motor, I just hope the problems we had in the T30 models will not repeat themselves all over again with the T31

Re: Starting problem

I have one thought that it could be the starter motor solenoid ready to give in or a solenoid in the alternator
OK Scot, 2 things incorrect with this...
1. If the engine is cranking over then the solenoid in the starter motor is fine as what it does is to push the pinion gear out to mate with the flywheel.
2. There is no solenoid in an alternator.

When I go to start the car it acts like it is a flat battery it literally drains the current to the point of no dash lights and it sits there just cranking over for around 10 seconds then starts up (once it starts I do not have this problem starting if I restart straight away)
This sounds like a lubrication problem. When "cold" the engine has extra friction and takes a lot of cranking current from the battery but when it has started, oil has been pumped to bearings and mating cylinder walls and the engine starts with little effort.
I would check what type of oil was used, maybe wrong grade for your temp range, and also any connections to the starter which may be either corroded or looser than they should be.

Re:
Has it started since the dramas started Scot?
If not, check the fuses in the engine bay, one may have blown. Even check that your reverse lights are working, stranger things have been linked to one of them blowing.
