Re:

Hi Aaron,

If it is an August built it will be the Series 3 (new shape face lift model), as the Series 3 was launched in July 2010 in Japan, so all models built after that month are the new shape face-lift models.

The guys who are advertising their 2010 T31 models as Series 3 are mistaken, as only the later months of 2010 (from July or August) qualify to be called a Series 3, the other 2010 models on carsales are a Series 2.

Am not sure why the dealer can't get you a definitive answer on that and say clearly that it is the face-lift model. If they want the sale to go through, they surely must provide you with definitive answers. How can you trust them after this and know for sure that it is owned by a Nissan exec. They could be sourcing it for you from a car auction for all you know!

I would definitely insist not on;y on confirming the correct model, but also to get the VIN chassis number and engine number if you can't see it or sinpect it. Trust no one when it comes to buying a car!

Re: Face-lift for the T31 X-Trail (Series 3) - Including 2WD Version (Series 4)

Thanks for the super fast response Jalalski!

Everything's ironed out now. You're spot on. If it's a true series 3, then it'll have the face lift

They have promised if it hasn't got the facelift (shouldn't be possible), they'll be sending it back

Cheers!

One good thing is that they brought back the analogue temperature and fuel gauges.
The dash display now looks like it mysteriosly came from a VW Golf.

Hi mate. Take no notice of me or what I am posting as I am as a newby reading through old threads trying to catch up on all things X Trail. Regarding the new dash display which now looks like it mysteriosly came from a VW Golf all I can say is, alles lookenpeepers. Dies Machine is nicht fur gefingerpoken und mitten-grabben. It is easy schnappen der springenwerk, blowenfuse and poppencorken mit spitzer sparken. It is nicht fur gewerken by das dummkopfen, or das rubber necken sightseeren keepen hands in das pockets, relaxen und watch das blinken lights. As long as they work faultlesly and are accurate, emoticon good on Nissan. emoticon Cheers, Haz.

Considering the issues they have with the CVT box, you would think they drop the CVT, not the manual, or at least replace the CVT with the conventional 6 gear auto box.

It doesn't make sense to drop the manual at all.

Hi Jalal. You did buy one though didnt you? I did last week. I hope I haven't made a big mistake??????????? Cheers, Haz.

Re:

Yep I certainly did, but I waited a year to make sure there are no reported problems with the CVT transmission since the introductions of the Series 3 in 2010 before deciding to buy one in June 2011. You can read the CVT related posts and my views (and others) in the transmission section.
