Re: SE Queensland - Driving and Picnic
Just thought to mention the weather for this trip.
Whilst it is great to see rain in the SE Queensland and makes for good bog holes, Duck Creek Road is often closed when there is lots of rain and signs advise dry weather crossing only. Having lived in the area for a few years, I know how quick and forceful rain comes down the mountains and would not hesitate to take this advice. Also, as we are planning to picnic, rain will put a dampener on this.
In saying this, if it is raining on the day, it may pay to cancel the trip. I will get up early and check the BOM site and advise everyone via the forum.
If not raining on the day and we go ahead with the trip but get turned back at Duck Creek Road, we can always backtrack and travel the bitumen to the winery and see how we go from there with times and travels.
Stephen, I have your number but could all other participants please PM me your mobile number if you want me to call you on the day if it is cancelled.

Hi Jamie, have sent you my mobile number via PM.
But hopefully you will not have to call it.
Forecast at the BOM site appears to be overall mainly fine for the weekend.
