posticon Wiring Diagram for T30 Series II Towbar

Hey,

Just wondering if anyone can point me in the direction of a wiring diagram and 'how to' for a tow bar for a T30 II. I bought a Hayman Reese hitch reciever and a mate and I installed it but there was no diagram or instructions for the wiring.

Any help will be appreciated.

Cheers

CHRIS

Hi Chris,

The wiring loom which you need to tap into for the towbar wiring is located on the floor secton of the boot area at the back. You need to remove everything from the boot.

The wire colours as follows:

Parker lights = solid red wire
Brake lights = solid pink wire
Turn signal left = green wire with black stripe
Turn signal right = green wire with yellow stripe

Grounds (any) = solid black wire

Hi Neil,

Yours could be the Series I in which case the colours will be different. If you have rectangular reflectors in the rear bumper your xtrail will be a Series I.

Re: Wiring Diagram for T30 Series II Towbar

im also having a go at wiring my trailer socket.
only success so far is getting the left indicator to work.
when i tap into the green and yellow wire for the right indicator im getting no power from it.
all my work is done in the spare wheel compartment. Im also having trouble getting power from the parker and brakes cables if im guessing right is the Solid red for parker and Solid pink for brakes? but i found there is no solid cables only with stripes

thanks in advance

Are you sure you have a Series 2 T30 Xtrail ?
Does it have the rectangular or round rear reflectors ?

For the T30 Series 2 try these...

Parker - Red/Blue stripe
Stop - Pink
Reverse - Yellow/Green stripe
Left Indicator - Green/Black stripe
Right Indicator - Green/Yellow stripe
Negative - Black

Re:

Thanks Revhead kev
i can confirm that these are the right colours for a series 2 t30 xtrail.

i tapped into the wires near the boot latch in the middle for the left indicator, ground & reverse.
The other 3 wires was tapped into underneath the scissor jack.

the blue wire from the trailer socket is not in use unless you have an electric brake system for your trailer

hope it helps anyone else
