Re: T31 diesal engine seized.
I do not want to cause panic at all,and i found this a bit hard to believe,as this would be a rare situation, but stranger things have happened. My mate is a car lover and yes that is all i know that the dealer said oil pump failure but who knows, anyway i believe it is now being repaired.I wish i had more knowledge.I also said to my mate i am going to post this on the X-trail site, and he said fine because this is true, and he works with the X-trail owner.
Would be a one off i would think, and i thought i would just tell it as it was told to me.
Very hard for me to get any more information as i do not know the owner,so there it is,i will pass on any more information when and if i get it cheers

Re: T31 diesal engine seized.
Ray,
It would be good if your mate can ask the owner to join our forum and tell us exactly what went wrong, that way we can get the information straight from the horses mouth sort of speak.
For the oil pump seizure to cause such extensive damage, the owner would have had some sort of warning that the engine wasn't running properly (example: overheating, flashing check engine light....etc)
Has the repair been covered under warranty?

Re: T31 diesal engine seized.
No worries Ray. We can then assume owner's fault was probably a factor in this saga.
