Re: Hi-Tech Cat. Back System (T31 Manual Diesel)

I have been running BP Ultimate since i got back to rAdelaide with the twins and i think the ECU must have just done a reset or some thing because as those poms would say - Kwor-Blimey.

The Acceleration is impressive and the low down torque (especially when overtaking in a higher gear or going up hills) is nothing short of amazing. Its not as scarey as a WRX but its definitely improved over the standard!

Im trying to find time to organise another dyno with both the twins and single now that ive been using the higher cetane fuel which wasnt available in Sydney.

Re: Hi-Tech Cat. Back System (T31 Manual Diesel)

Update.

All is running well. The system is still very quiet and im getting used to the extra torque.
I have driven in some deep mud and the extra guts were noticable. Towing a heavy trailer around has been easier too.
No problems with DPF or anything, which is reassuring, everything runs smoothly.

I have my 40,000km service coming up soon, lets see what the boys at Nissan think!

Good to hear that there are no problems as yet.
Get your wallet ready for the 40k, its a big one.
I saved over half by going to Ultra Tune.

Just got the cat back single system for the DCI from Hi Tech, first impression was the turbo lag was decreased noticeably, better pick down low ,workmanship very good and it looks snug. Very happy.

Good stuff Ray and it was nice meeting you today.

By the way guys, Ray has the Series III T31 model diesel and the system fitted like a glove on it, so this makes Ray the first Series 3 T31 owner with the Hi-Tech system emoticon

As usual, Lambros didn't let me go without fitting a brand new AMG exhaust system on my Merc, man that sure made it fly on the way back home!! LOL emoticon

Congrats Ray!

This business has been very good for the forum and I can not wait until I get my single thru exhaust but the Hyper rails have to come first!

Re: Hi-Tech Cat. Back System (T31 Manual Diesel)

has anyone fitted this to an Auto yet?

(Tried doing a search and I could not find it)

Im looking at the single exhaust for my mine

Is the DPF affected? or a cat back system wont have that issue?

i was looking to add a chip but a section on the dpchip website says the following:

"Aftermarket Exhausts can lower back pressure and exhaust gas temperatures. High temperatures are actually required to clean the DPF.
If the DPF becomes blocked it can create high engine back pressures and excessively high temperatures.
We have seen some cases of Engine failures and DPF filter damage, these cases have proven to be caused by the fitment of After Market Exhaust. This has then lead to the After Market Exhaust Manufacturer becoming responsible for the damage and for payment for repairs."
