Re: Scareyann's little exy: updated additions

Regarding the trailer light plug its fairly easy to invert the L shaped bracket to face upwards instead of down. Not sure why so many dealers install it facing down. It's just wrong. Simply undo the mount connected to the rear bar and then undo the plug connector from the L shaped bracket and turn it upside down. That will ensure the flap over the plug stays hanging down and not up. With the plug upside down and then the L bracket turned the other way up, it sits nice and up out of the way of anything that might flick up and catch it. If the wiring is hanging under the rear bar you could just disconnect the wires and then feed it over the top of the rear bar or even zippy tie the wiring nice and tight against it. Use the black UV resistant ones though, white ones will perish. I'll have some rear end pics of my plug setup sometime soon under Member's Rides.

Re: Scareyann's little exy: updated additions

I've been to my local pedders (last time ever now) and gotten the new higher springs put in it.

The exy drives pretty good now and a little higher with all the stuff Iv'e put into it today.

Pity the local store took 4.5hrs longer than they said and left me sitting in the waiting room that entire time. Oh and they also put the drivers side wiper on incorrectly and now it goes off the window and out onto the side by about 40mm.

They are going to get a not so nice phone call in the morning when I get to Brisbane and to pick and setup another pedders to fix their stuff up.

I'd say they loosened the strut nuts the lazy way and removed the plastic cowl instead of using an offset spanner to reach the nut near the firewall.

Maybe it took thm 1hr to do the springs, and 3.5hrs to put the wiper back on?

That's terrible!

Re: Scareyann's little exy: updated additions

They got to organise the fix to the wipers with the pedders store in West Ipswich 2 days later when I was passing through.

I packed and drove to Brissy on 2 hrs sleep.

The nissan dealership at Indooroopilly (westpoint) are very good tho.
My local mechanic picked up that there was 3 inch Y split in the tourbo intake hose. Most likely caused by an over tightened clamp.
The service guys said they would look at it and that it would take 1 hr. Initially it was we may need a part from Japan and send it to a service place on my track somewhere.
1 hr later the mechanic said, 'just waiting for the sealant gel to dry a bit to tighten it a little more and it would be ready to go. They found a spare in the Brissy warehouse, and if they didn't find that; they were going to take one off the car in the new car yard. It was a pretty severe split, spraying oil out a fair bit. I wish I took a photo of it as it was not good.

Do you mean a split in the oil feed for the turbo?
Cos i cant see a split in the intake tubing causing an oil leak emoticon

good to see its fixed tho!
