intercooler install

hey guys,

mounted my intercooler today emoticon
who ever said it wasnt possible in an x-trail! haha

its specs are 400 x 220 x 65mm with 2.5' outlets

here it sits:

had to make up my own mounting brackets, relocate the horn and ambient temp sensor, but its fits well, doesnt move at all. there were two holes in the radiator support that were EXACTLY in line with the mounting points of the 'cooler, its like they were meant to be there emoticon

and yes, the grill fits back on, but im gonna drive around like this for a few days cos it looks cool emoticon

Re: intercooler install

Don't get pulled up by the local authorities as they may deem your vehicle unsafe for the road as any part of a pedestrian that you may encounter can get caught up in the exposed area!

You do not want to draw that type of attention to yourself do you?

Looking good though!

Regards Scot

Re: intercooler install

haha
dont stress, the grill fits over it easily.
looks good with the grill over it too, heaps of silver is still visible, but it doesn't attract the attention

the piping looks pretty easy run also, might start on that soon.

Cam.

[EDIT]

here it is with the grill modified to allow better flow...
i LOVE the look...

Re: intercooler install

looks good mate, i like your grille mod too. might wana put some kinda mesh up though cos the cooler will look ratty after a few months with bent fins (from bugs and rocks etc) and also if it punctures a core youll be chasing boost problems too. you need to get some vid or audio of it revving when your done emoticon
